Leroy Almeida

Leroy is the former Senior Executive Officer, Markel International Ltd – DIFC .

Leroy Almeida has worked in the trade credit & finance industry for over 17 years; with over 15 years of experience in underwriting trade credit and political risk insurance (PRI) solutions in the Middle Eastern region. He is currently working with Markel that is a NYSE listed fortune 500 company that offers a wide range of specialist insurance products including trade credit, political risk and surety solutions. He is the senior executive officer for Markel International’s Dubai operation based in the DIFC, and heads Markel’s trade credit and political risks team in the Middle East and Asia. Leroy has been instrumental in promoting and developing trade credit, political risk, structured trade credit and surety solutions in the Gulf region. Prior to joining Markel, Leroy worked as a senior business development manager with Atradius’ cooperation partners in the UAE for 9 years and also previously worked with ABN Amro Bank, in corporate banking in India
